Simply one of the best football players ever, not just at Manchester United, but Worldwide. On his passing in 2005 he went a legend among football fans. Coming from Northern Ireland George Best picked up the European Cup and European Footballer of the Year in 1968. Best scored 179 goals during his time at United, including 32 goals in the 1967/1968 season. He is highly regarded by many as the most talented football player in the history of the sport, and not many would disagree.

Bobby Charlton (1954-1973)

Among the longest serving players ever for the club, he scored 249 goals across an amazing 17 seasons. A World Cup winner in 1966, and still playing an ambassador role for Manchester United even now, Bobby Charlton is one of Manchester United’s greats, superb control and an appetite for going forward made sure people stood up and took notice whenever he played.

Denis Law (1962-1973)

A goal scoring hero for the club, Denis Law was one of the clubs most hungry goal scorers through the 1’s and into the 70’s. 171 goals in 309 appearances, and European Footballer of the Year 1964 along with being an FA CUP winner 1963, he’s impossible to leave out. Despite some referee’s seemingly having issues with him, he continued to play well and was a consistent performer for the club for 11 seasons.

Eric Cantona (1992-1997)

Another modern hero for Manchester United fans, this time its Roy Keane. His never say die attitude and assertiveness when playing made sure his opposites always knew when he was close. He was by no means a major goal scorer for the club, but did more then others in recent years to bring glory and silverware to the club, he lead from the front and kept United on top throughout the majority of his time at the club.
